For the third Wednesday in a row I timed my journey down these escalators perfectly so the metro was just pulling in as I got to the platform.

After a 10 day wait I finally had my appointment at the Freeman Ear Nose & Throat Department to get the earplug removed from my ear. As new experiences go, having my eardrum hoovered
on a Monday morning was certainly a different one.

9 October 2022: Red Velvet Cake
It's Sarah's birthday today and she asked for a red velvet cake. I'd never made one before and Noirin said her last effort wasn't a great success but with some teamwork and actually sticking
carefully to the recipe, we managed to make something extremely edible.
8 October 2022: Yellow Bed
I ordered this duvet cover after seeing an ad on Facebook. The idea of brightly coloured corduroy velvet was too appealing to pass up. I think Sally likes it already.
7 October 2022: Wansbeck Hospital
My day off work was completely wasted. During the night I removed my earplugs and part of one of them got stuck in my left ear. Noirin tried to get it out with tweezers but it stayed put so we
spent the morning at Wansbeck urgent treatment centre. A nurse and doctor both tried valiantly with mini forceps and a suction tube but they also couldn't remove it so I've got to go to the Freeman
ENT clinic in 10 days. Looks like I'm stuck with muffled hearing and awful tinnitus for a bit longer.
6 October 2022: iPhone 13
I think this is the first time I've ever upgraded my phone just because it was due, not because my phone had a problem. I hate the process of setting up a new phone but I'm sure it'll be worth it.
